Our First Production
ALL IS NOT WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE (3 in 1)
It seems like only yesterday that we put our first production at NTC, a lot of
things have changed since then and we are still very proud to be serving the
community.
These pages are about the inaugural programme of three one-act plays, which were
staged at the Arts Centre in cabaret style. The theme of the Noarlunga Festival
followed that of the 1994 theme which focused on the family.
Rosemary Pou's original plays both dealt with difficult family concerns such as
aging and conflict, while the third play in the trilogy, Over The Wall, which
I adapted from the original play by James Saunders, covered the difficult topic
of family conformity and how to break free of the stereotypes.
These plays were performed three times in all; an evening show on the 1st October 1994, plus a matinee and evening performance on the 8th October 1994, with the final show resulting in a standing ovation from the audience, thus confirming the success of Noarlunga Theatre Company's inaugural production.
