The first rehearsal was a read-through of the play, and it went well. There were a couple of people absent through illness, but it was great for everyone else to start to get to know each other, and for the cast to meet some of the crew.
The reading was good, and some have the Scottish dialect down already, while others slipped in and out. I’m starting to see characters develop even at this early stage, and it’s good to see people beginning to ‘bounce off’ each other as they explore the characters and the intricacies of this great play. It was also fun and there was quite a bit of giggling going on among the ‘girls’, but all (well, mostly) in the right places!
